The regenerative process begins by injecting the stem cells into the patient’s injured muscle, tendon, or joint to start the healing processes of injured tissues. Proteins, growth factors, and other healing mediators are released by injected stem cells, which stimulate your stem cells to grow and divide, resulting in healing of tissue, suppression of inflammation, and suppression of immune responses associated with pain.     The PRP injection procedure is performed in the doctor’s office. The blood is drawn, and then the PRP is prepared by using a special centrifuge to provide the highest concentration and quality of PRP available. The injection site is aseptically cleaned and then locally anesthetized. Using ultrasound guidance, the physician will introduce the PRP into the affected area using a small gauge needle. The physician will then provide post-procedure instructions which will include avoiding NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and rest.


    Once the PRP was injected, a collection of concentrated growth factors and other active healing mediators migrate to the injured tissues and a healing cascade occurs, causing active tissue repair. This process goes on for several weeks after just one application. Patients generally have some mild post-procedure discomfort for a few days, and then begin to see improvement in pain and mobility after 4 to 6 weeks, with continued healing and improvement for up to 6 months.
